"The 1972 Balticon broke the string of using the Lord Baltimore by going
to a hotel near Johns Hopkins Hospital which was constructed entirely of
poured concrete. It presumably gave us a better deal -- I don't recall -- but
nobody liked it much and no one felt comfortable going outside to eat.
The 1971 to 1974 Balticons all had banquets with the GoH speech at
them, all held 2 or 3 miles from the hotel up on University Parkway.
Surprising as it might seem now, people went."
